Help us help others!
Rural and small town living has many benefits but it can also have a few setbacks such as a lack of regular public transportation. This lack can greatly impact the lives of people living on limited income or who don’t have access to a personal vehicle—especially those living with special needs or mobility issues. Lanark Transportation was created in 2001 by a dedicated group of people to help meet this need. We are a community-based, not-for-profit association and as such, we rely on support from community grants and donors like you.
In 2015, Lanark Transportation provided trips to 17,000 passengers, covering more than 528,000 kilometres throughout the year.
Cynthia is a senior with a chronic, degenerative health condition. Your donation can help Lanark Transportation take her to necessary medical appointments.
Amy lives alone in a rural setting and suffers from debilitating depression. Your donation can help Lanark Transportation take her to a weekly support group that can take her out of her isolation and get her on the road to recovery.
Keith has kidney disease and requires dialysis treatments three times per week. Because he also has mobility issues that require the use of a wheelchair, he relies on Lanark Transportation’s accessible vehicle to take him to his appointments.
